Term One Art Contest: Food

The theme for our first term art contest is food!
This means anything food-related, whether it’s a person dressed with food-inspired clothing, someone eating food, etc.

The rules:

  1. You must be a member for the 2014-2015 year.
  2. You may submit multiple entries.
  3. Entries can be any medium: Black-and-white, sketched, digital, etc.
  4. All submissions must be completely original. This means no content from any other artist, anime, manga, or any other copyrighted material.
  5. Entries must be tasteful meaning no nudity, sexuality, gore, etc.
  6. You may use our mascots in your art entry if you wish.

The winner will be decided based upon two criteria: creative design and skill.

The deadline to submit is the showing on Nov 21 at 5pm (right before the showing). Submissions can be emailed directly to us at info@ubcani.com or given to us at any of our events until the deadline.

The UBC Anime Club executive team reserves all rights to disqualify submissions at their discretion if any of the above requirements are not met.

Good luck!

Weekly Spotlight

Would you like to see your drawing or photo featured on one of our newsletters? Submit your art to info@ubcani.com and you may see it in a future email!

Rules and restrictions:

  • The width limit is 350px. The height is more flexible, but please be reasonable (i.e. no extremely tall images.) You may provide us with a link to the full image if the size is too restricting to include in the newsletter as well.
  • Please only submit one thing at a time. Don’t swamp us, please! It’s fine to submit something new after a while (at least wait until after your previous submission is published).
  • Unlike our contests, fanart is allowed. You may also use our mascots if you wish.
  • Submissions should be tasteful. This means no nudity, sexuality, gore, etc.
  • Both traditional and digital art is fine. However, please ensure that the scan of your traditional art is clear (not too dark, not blurry, etc.)

We have the right to refuse your submission if it does not meet these conditions, or if we want to give other members a chance to feature their work.

Feel free to give us a short description (1-2 sentences) of your submission to include and your name/alias so we can credit you. Please also include something like “Weekly Spotlight” in the title of your email.

Happy drawing!

“A laboratory-created, dragon humanoid. Created by melding the mind of a machine with a woman, after synthesis it’s unclear if the woman retains any control. She was pretty much the sacrificial component of the experiment. The chosen element was ice. She’s as cool as the metal that dwells in her .”
