Showing #1: Week of September 23rd 2012

Until the new season starts (early-mid October), we will watch shows that members requested when they filled out the surveys at our icebreaker. Please be respectful when watching anime in the club; others may not have seen the series yet. Membership will be available at the showing, or any of our weekly showings if you haven’t had the chance to purchase it yet. Speak to our Treasurer, Ivy.

Creative Director: Recruiting a New Executive!

The UBC Anime Club is looking for a talented and responsible individual to become part of our executive team. The Creative Director will be in charge of designing and producing club art for advertising and promotional purposes, and will help organize events with the rest of the team. Updates: Clubs’ Days and Icebreaker 2012

The gears are in motion for the Anime Club. We will have a presence at UBC’s Clubs’ Days and host our very own Icebreaker! Membership for the club will be sold at both events.

Clubs’ Days this year will be on the 19th and 20th (10AM-4PM) and 21st (10AM-3PM). The Anime Club will have a booth in the SUB Party room (located on the 2nd floor of the Student Union Building). This is an excellent opportunity to buy membership and ask questions.

The Anime Club Icebreaker will be held on Friday September 21st. This is your chance to meet other members, play some fun anime-related games, win PRIZES and watch an anime movie! You do NOT need to be a member to attend. The Icebreaker is another opportunity for you to sign up for membership. The chosen movie for the Icebreaker is a classic, Howl’s Moving Castle. For more information, see the Facebook Event.

Imagine Day 2012

We had a great time on Imagine Day at UBC! Although the weather was hot and bright that day, we came prepared. ;D Our booth in front of Koerner Library probably won the award for having the most umbrellas. All of the execs were carrying around umbrellas to shield themselves from the sun.

UBC Imagine Day 2012

The UBC Anime Club will have a booth for club advertisement during UBC’s opening day: Imagine Day on Tuesday, September 4th! We will be in front of Koerner Library from 1:30 to 5:00 PM.

Drop by to learn about club, sign up for the mailing list and see some awesome cosplays!

Oh, and did I mention we are giving out FREE CANDY!?
